Ahmedabad | June 12 — In what is turning into a national tragedy, Air India Flight AI171, en route from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick, has reportedly crashed shortly after takeoff. Shockingly, the passenger manifest confirms that former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani was onboard.
A leaked screenshot from the airline’s boarding system, verified by several aviation sources, shows “RUPANI Vijay Ramniklal Mr”, bearing passport number V3294245, marked as ‘Boarded’ on the flight. The same list also includes his presumed spouse, Mrs. Vijay Rupani, with passport number V6994594, both seated in the business class section of the aircraft.
There were 242 passengers on board, including families, students, and senior citizens traveling to the UK.
